Ricefield Arts volunteers have the opportunity to specialise and work within one of our four main volunteer committees; Events, Marketing, Business Development and Arts Development. We are currently seeking volunteers to join the following groups:

Call for volunteers to join Events Committee (5 – 7 members needed)

Are you passionate about events and would like to learn more about planning, coordinating and organising an event? Ricefied Arts and Cultural Centre would like to offer this golden opportunity to train our existing volunteers who are interested in events planning to join the events committee. Ricefield is actively involved in various multi-cultural sharing events, summer park events and also organising annual events to celebrate key Chinese festivals such as Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat festival, Mid-Autumn festival etc. With the formation of new events committee, we hope to train our event committee team members to run our usual events, and also to explore new potential events as a team. We will provide training opportunities and valuable hands-on experience about events planning and organising for our team members.
Requirement:

– Reliable and able to take responsibility

Call for volunteers to join Business Development Committee (5 – 7 team members)

Are you from business, sales or e-commerce background with interest in the creative industries? Ricefield Arts and Cultural Centre is looking for a group of volunteers who are interest to gain practical business development experience in arts sector to join our Business Development Committee. As a social enterprise with charitable aims, Ricefield is always aiming to be self-sustainable by providing various services such as Chinese arts and crafts merchandise selling, conducting craft workshops, running events etc. We will provide trainings from time to time to equip our business development Committee team members with relevant skills to bring our current services to the next level. You will work alongside with our Business Development Administrator to explore new business opportunities, creating new services and generating more merchandise sales.

Call for volunteers to join Arts Development Committee (5-7 members)

Are you keen to contribute your skills about Chinese arts & crafts in developing and run arts and crafts workshops? Are you an arts student who would like to gain more experience in this sector or to become a workshop artist? Ricefield is looking to form an Arts Development Committee, to train a group of committed volunteers to become our in-house workshop artists/leaders. You will help us to conduct 1-2 arts/crafts workshop of your choice per month. We will cover the related expenses and all the workshop materials. Don’t worry if you don’t have workshop leading experience, we are happy to train you. Once our workshops are up and running, we will start looking into the potential of developing new arts project together at second stage. Any form of Chinese arts/craft skills are welcomed: e.g Chinese painting, calligraphy, origami, paper cutting, flower making, candle making, Chinese knotting, lantern making, cookery, shadow puppetry, bamboo crafts…
Requirement:
– Creative and innovative individual
Sound knowledge about Chinese Arts and Culture
– able to attend monthly Arts Development Committee meeting
patient, and passionate about sharing the knowledge
– this role is open to our registered volunteers and new volunteers
